Phyllis McDaniel attended school in the Hardin County School system and graduated from Central High in 1969. She attended Memphis State University for two years and graduated from Union University School of Nursing in 1974.

Ms. McDaniel has worked as a registered nurse since graduation and was hired in 1997 by the Hardin County Board of Education as a school nurse and continue to this day in that position.
